This workout is now my nemesis…really looking for advice how to get through it!
My 4dp came up with time trialer profile so I figured this should be pretty well suited to me but I’ve now tried twice and failed twice. I get up to around 2 hours in and just cant make it through the final 40min block. I’m not sure whether its a mental or physical (or both!) blocker but I just cant make it to the end.
Interested in advice, guidance, tips, nutrition etc…anything that will help me get through this one.
My weakness has always been endurance and I’m not sure how to get better without just getting stuck in and giving it everything I’ve got. Things I was thinking about was:
- Trying to slowly increase duration - ie try to get to 2 hrs 10 next time
- reduce % to 90 or 95% then slowly increase
- split into 2 x 1hr 15 min blocks with rest in between
Nutrition wise I had a gel at 60 mins, then at 90 mins, drinking electrolyte drink (sis). That all feels OK. I just get to a point where I have nothing in the tank…it just absolutely smashes me!
I’m fine on most other workouts…I can suffer, I been interval training for several years now…but this one in particular just escapes me every time!
